lyrics
This glib substitute for wit
Drips from smirking lips
And I hope I've applied
Just the right amount of glint to my eye
To imply
All I'm saying is a sarcastic lie
Sincerity
It buries me
Under the weight
Of having to be
A real person
What a burden
I'm hoping cynicism
Will pass as lyricism
And I'm hoping conviction
Will mask repetition
Will mask repetition
Maybe I
Should excercise
My demons at the gym
(Happiness is for the thin)
And the sting
From injecting the steroids in
Forms my features into a sickening grin
Get set
Jet set
Budget airline to warmer climbs
I recycle so it's fine.
I set flight to the Twittersphere with alarming alacrity
To ensure all my small talk is broadcasted publicly
And I moan
And I spout negativity
But for once I'm going to try and say something honestly:
Why am I
So petrified
Of looking you in the eye?
Over time
I think I've learnt to hide
How much I struggle with the mundane
How much I struggle with the day to day
I hope this resonates with you in some way

I feel like I could have written this song while with my ex. It is so bitingly truthful, holding back none of the bitter reality of feelings that a toxic relationship establishes. The build up of vocalization is spitting, heartwrenching and really brings the lyrics to their fullest emotional potential.
Can’t describe how much I love the juxtaposition of extremes recurring throughout this album, both lyrically and thematically. izze32
In a more perfect world, this band would blaring out of every radio on Earth. The lyrics, the vocals, the just-outta-teens snark and earnestness... so much to love. paulimboden
Across their second full-length, the London post-punks offer up thrumming motoriks, industrial tones, and sullen sing-a-longs in abundance. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 17, 2024
The soaring arcs of post-rock, the punchy rhythms of post-hardcore, and the jagged lines of post-punk all join on the latest from Aversions. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2023
Noisy Siberian post-punk with mathcore's sense of inventive tempo and vocals that nearly howl with urgent insistence. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 27, 2023
